Warcraft Film

If you know me personally, then you know that i have spent well over 100 days /played in World of Warcraft throughout the last 5 years. I have a couple of the figurines, I have one of the graphic novels, i’ve bought in-game mounts and even although i’m currently unsubscribed as I have quite a lot of UNI work on my hands, nothing can take away my interest in all things WOW.

So today i read that David Bowie’s son (I love Bowie by the way) Duncan Jones has been signed on to direct the upcoming warcraft film. Now for those of you who are not aware of Duncan Jones, he directed this masterpiece.

All i’m saying is, I CAN’T WAIT for this film which is slated for a 2015 release.

Kickstarter – Roam

Roam

A new game has recently appeared on kickstarter called “Roam” from an Ex Gas Powered Games artist Ryan Sharr.

The game’s tagline is “Scavenge. Build. Fight Survive” and from the “prototype video” on kickstarter the fighting and surviving is well explained.

At the time of writing this “Roam” has already hit it’s $40,000 goal and currently sits at $56,441 and now has several other goals. Drivable vehicles will be added to the game, It now also includes a player skill system and will no doubt hit the other targets with 20 days left to go.

The game is about your usual zombies tearing the place up but instead of being in a set map like diablo and path of exiles you have the freedom to explore the map in which ever way you feel is best as it is open plan.

The game will force you to fine food, water and tools. You will have to build barricades and forts to defend yourself as well as finding “improvised” weapons to survive the incoming onslaught of brain hungry fiends.

My first opinion of this game is that it is aspiring to take tower defence games to a whole new level and that is something i’m happy to see having spent too many hours playing the most basic of flash tower defence games to numb boredom. The game will also but much more interesting if you are playing with friends as it will support 3 friends to join you in the impending death that one would assume comes with killing zombies day in day out.

If this sounds like the kind of game you would be interested in then head on over to their kickstarter page to check them out and watch the prototype video, for only $15 dollar you get early Beta access and full access to the game when it comes out.

Site Update Feb 2013

Hi Everyone.

In an attempt to stop the spam on the site I’ve had to change the comments to require sign in.
Please note however that these comments are not monitored in any way, I was however fed up seeing casino links in the comments section.

I’m having issues with rendering videos for the youtube channel, this is why there are only 2 videos uploaded currently.
I really want to do more videos but I think it may have to wait until summer when I upgrade the CPU on my PC.
I also wont settle for anything less than 720p video quality as I know that if I was looking at someone’s site i wouldn’t settle for less than 720p.

Things have been progressing slowly at a pace I am currently happy with but plans are still being put in place to develop this news website further.
I currently haven’t put any effort into the tech side of things on the site which is starting to bug me but I can only do so much.

I have also given up WOW which should allow slightly more time to focus on this site and provide more news updates for the time being.
I promise nothing though, cause I can see myself being back just in time to drown in dinosaurs.

If you are keen to participate in a blog and would like to write the tech side of the site for me then please send an email to the following address.

Boredanduseless at gmail d o t com

All applicants will require to submit 3 pieces of work and an estimate of how many hours work they can contribute to the site weekly.
There is no closing date for this and please note that there will be no pay of any kind at this point in time.

Dead Space 3 Launch Trailer.

For anyone who has never had the opportunity to place a dead space game before then this should help you make your mind up.

Dead space 3 is the 3rd game in the main dead space series. (I know it sounds obvious, but if you compare that to things like assassins creed 3, then you can see what I mean).

The game follows Isaac Clarke and John Carver as they attempt to end the “Necromorph” threat on a frozen planet called Tau Volantis.

Be aware that as you play you will enter Vacuum areas and a timer will appear to show how much oxygen is left before you suffocate.

The game features Single player and co-op

Enjoy the launch trainer, This game will be released on Feb 5th US, Feb 7th Oz, Feb 8th EU.

Oh and before i forget, If Phil Collins is happy enough to put his music to the game trailer, then you know it’s gotta be awesome!

2013 D.I.C.E Nominees.
